Programming so far:

Here is a copy of the program schedule that will be updated as I flesh it out. I hope to have it carved in stone for the second mailing in July. Here is the Lynx usable version of the schedule (not always up-to-date.)

Mickey's Writers' Workshop:

This year (as often in the past) we will be doing a writers' workshop which will be taught by author Mickey Zucker Reichert. There is no extra fee for taking part in the workshop, but all workshop participants must be members of ICON. Send ten copies of your short fiction to the address below between July 15th and September 1st, 1997, so we can get copies of all of the works to Mickey and all other workshop attendees before ICON. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope, with postage the same as on your submission, to defray the cost of distributing the workshop materials.

Anime:

This year ICON will once again have an Anime room run by SWAMP (The SFLIS Wing of Amine and Manga People). SWAMP will also be running the Anime convention AnimeIowa in September, 1997. The Anime room at ICON 22 will be about 15x40 in size, so it should be much less cramped than in previous years. The room will open Friday afternoon and will not close until Sunday afternoon. NOTE: Since we need the larger space to hold the number of people the Anime demands, we have no choice but to have the Anime room on the second floor, which has no handicapped access.

Video:

ICON 22 will have an SF video room in a regular hotel room on the first floor, also running from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. No theme has been decided for the features which will be shown.

Gaming:

This year we will once again have gaming at ICON, including organized events. We currently plan to have a few RPGA events, a small XXXenophile tournament, as well as a general smattering of other types of games. More on this later.
